Abstract:
This thesis examines obstacles to BIM-based and digital construction, as well as work and assembly planning in building construction. The aim is to identify key challenges in the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM). It is based on an online survey and expert interviews, which provide practical insight into the current situation. Differences between companies of different sizes are highlighted. The analysis shows that both technical and organizational factors can inhibit the successful use of BIM. Common barriers include a lack of standards, insufficient software compatibility, a high training requirement, and resistance in established work processes. In addition, investment costs and limited resources, especially in smaller companies, act as strong inhibiting factors. Based on the results, recommendations for action are formulated to support companies in the successful introduction of BIM. These include targeted training, the promotion of cross-company cooperation, and the establishment of binding standards.
