Supervision of Researchers in Early Career Phases
In the last five years, 14 doctoral dissertations and one habilitation treatise supervised by Prof. Mechtcherine have been successfully completed and defended.
Research focus
Development of new, sustainable, cement-based composite materials and processes for their production with special emphasis on fiber-reinforced concrete; tailored material design based on chemistry, rheology, fracture mechanics, etc.; investigation of the short- and long-term properties of new and existing mineral-based building materials (concrete, mortar, masonry); research into the mechanisms that determine material behavior and the means of influencing them in a targeted manner; modeling of building material behavior.
