Prof. Mechtcherine Among the World's Most Cited Researchers

Great news for our Institute: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Mechtcherine is once again among the world’s most influential scientists in 2026!

In the current Stanford/Elsevier database of the world’s most-cited researchers, he ranks 15,763rd globally. Particularly noteworthy is his ranking in the field of Building & Construction: Here, he achieves an outstanding 31st place worldwide and 1st place in Germany.

The annually published ranking is based on data from the scientific literature database Scopus and takes into account various indicators of scientific citation impact over the course of a researcher’s entire career.

This ranking is a special recognition of his many years of research and underscores the international significance of building materials research at TU Dresden.
