SPP2005 - Winter School 2022

On 16 February 2022, the time had finally come for the Winter School of the second funding period of the Priority Programme (SPP 2005): "Opus Fluidum Futurum - Rheology of Reactive, Multiscale, Multiphase Building Material Systems", funded by the DFG, took place as a hybrid event in the winter sports resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

During the four-day workshop, the participants intensively exchanged information about the current research status of their individual projects and took the opportunity to lively discuss the current topics and approaches in the interdisciplinary environment.

Thanks to the online access, it was also possible to actively participate in the lecture programme and the discussions from outside.

The event was enriched by the impressive keynote lectures of the invited experts from all over the world. Valuable input was offered to the auditorium by the captivating lectures of Prof. Robert J. Flatt, Prof. Karl-Christian Thienel, Prof. Gianluca Cusatis, Prof. Nicolas Roussel, Prof. Eddie Koenders, and Prof. Wolfgang Breit.

The doctoral candidates also took the opportunity to discuss their own complex and subject-specific problems in a solution-oriented manner in the individual consultations with the experts.

Likewise, the participants were not only able to talk together, but also to hike up the Alps together. The hiking and skiing sessions further strengthened the team spirit, promoted networking between the individual universities and encouraged possible cooperation.

We would like to thank all participants and contributors for the successful event and are already looking forward to the Annual Meeting in Darmstadt in October.
