Fusion zum weltweit größten Industrie- und Forschungsverband für Carbonbeton
The association members of the most important construction research project on carbon concrete to date, the C³ - Carbon Concrete Composite e. V., and the industry association TUDALIT e. V. spoke out in favour of merging the two associations to form the world's largest industry and research association in the field of reinforced concrete construction at a general meeting. In doing so, they are following the path that both boards had already paved with a merger agreement in February.
Under strict hygiene precautions and notarial supervision, the members today gave their approval to the merger of the two associations, successfully placing the C³ Association at the forefront of the ongoing competition in the national and international reinforced concrete association landscape. The C³ Association is thus regarded as the main point of contact in the political, public, economic and scientific sectors for carbon concrete construction for companies and research institutions both within and related to the industry.
Dr.-Ing. Frank Schladitz, Managing Director of the C³ Association, welcomes the step to merge and justifies it, among other things, with "the adaptation to the continuously developing target group and the higher media visibility" for the innovative composite material. "With the fusion, the financial resources of both associations can not only be combined, but also strengthened. The financial double burden for the members who were previously members of both associations will now be minimised, he said. At the same time, however, the transformation into an industrial and research association also opens up the possibility for our C³ Research Association, which has so far been responsible for coordinating the C³ research project, to apply for comprehensive funding and to further promote reinforced concrete construction - also beyond the DACH region," says Frank Schladitz.
The C³ - Carbon Concrete Composite project is currently the largest research project in the German construction industry. Since 2014, the composite material reinforced concrete has been researched, developed and applied in practice with the help of a consortium of over 140 partners in 61 joint projects and over 300 individual projects. The main tasks of the C³ Association thus include the administration of the individual research projects, the dissemination of information and knowledge, and technology transfer. In recent years, the composite material reinforced concrete and the work of the C³ Association have already been awarded several prestigious prizes.
The foundation of the industry association TADALIT e. V. came about during the term of the two special research areas of the TU Dresden and the RWTH Aachen on the topic of textile concrete for the transfer of research results into practice and the establishment of a network in 2009. With the aim of trademarking the production and application of textile concrete on the basis of specified quality standards for the individual components of the composite material, the production processes and the processes for reinforcement and repair, TUDALIT e. V. acted with over 40 partners from the construction industry until 2021. Following the notarised legal vote of the members of both associations, the merger application will be submitted to the Dresden District Court this week and the change of both associations will be recorded in the register of associations in the coming days after the documents have been examined.
