Lecture series Lehmbau Impulse
Invitation to the lecture series Lehmbau Impulse. Beginning with Hendrik Benz from the RWTH Aachen.
With the lecture series "Lehmbau Impulse", we want to create a forum and space for current developments in earth building at the interface of materials research, digital production and sustainable building. Building on the new earth building module of the Institute of Concrete Structures and Institute of Construction Materials, TU Dresden, the series of events is aimed at students, researchers, planners and anyone interested in sustainable construction methods.
The focus is on the potential of earth building in the context of current technological innovations. How can traditional building materials be combined with robotic production methods? What new applications are emerging through automated processes, 3D printing or computational design? What contribution can materials research make to making earth more efficient, more precise and more widely available?
The building of the future requires a transformation. Every transformation begins with an impulse. The lecture series brings experts from science and research to the TUD Dresden University of Technology to discuss precisely these questions and impulses. Together, we will open up new perspectives on building with clay and create a space for exchange, networking and discussion.
We cordially invite you to join us in rethinking one of the most traditional and at the same time highly topical building materials.
We start on 28.04.2026 with Hendrik Benz from RWTH Aachen University:
CLAY TO CODE. Machine Learning in Robotic Earthen Construction.
Registration is not necessary. These are public lectures in BEY 127 from 18:30 to 20:00.
Further dates:
- 12.05. Joschua Gosslar, ITE TU Braunschweig: "Robotic rammed earth construction: tradition, technology and transfer"
- 26.05. Christoph Liebrich, ClayX MFPA Weimar: Topic still open
- 09.06. Alexander Stahr, FLEX HTWK Leipzig: Topic still open
- 23.06. Selina Vaculik, ibac RWTH Aachen: Topic still open
