Student research projects in cooperation with DB InfraGo AG
As part of the DB Netz AG Endowed Chair at the Institute of Concrete Structures (IMB), we are looking for interested students for student research projects in cooperation with DB InfraGO AG (Principles of Construction and Technical Planning, Program and Resource Management I.IIG 2 - Technical Planning of Structural Engineering).
In the winter semester 2024/25 and summer semester 2025, it is possible to work on the following railway-specific topics in bridge construction:
Bridge design of new buildings with DB inventory data
Exemplary task: A - 43 Data-based planning of bridges
Associated research project: HyBridGen (BMDV)

Damage evaluation & renovation concepts for vaulted bridges
Exemplary task:
- Evaluation of historical planning material
- Inspection of bridge books from approx. 1950 to the present day (in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn)
- Carry out damage analysis for each bridge structure
- Determining the types of renovation depending on the time
- Tabular compilation/analysis
- Derivation of recurring events
