HyBridGen - AI-based bridge generator
To date, bridges have been heavily influenced by individual engineering knowledge, which leads to fluctuations in quality and long planning processes. It is also difficult to involve citizens at an early stage. The HyBridGen project is therefore developing a largely automated bridge generator that uses AI to generate plausible and buildable designs from existing route and geodata as well as engineering knowledge. These are visualized photo-realistically, explained interactively and thus enable transparent decision-making.
The central basis is an ontology that structures knowledge about bridges and boundary conditions. Based on design criteria (e.g. environmental data, load capacity, budget), fast, valid designs are generated using machine learning and output in parameterized form. Validation is carried out on the pilot project in the Central German lignite mining area
