Bustling farms, exciting research, and plenty of Civil Engineering—that’s what LNdW was all about
Die Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2026 bei den Bauingenieuren
On June 26, 2026, thousands of people accepted the invitation from the TUD Dresden University of Technology to attend the Dresden Science Night, spending the evening and well into the night marveling at exhibits and conducting experiments.
Anyone who thought it would be too hot on campus for Dresden Science Night was proven wrong. Despite persistently high temperatures, our lab courtyard behind the Von Mieses Building steadily filled up. Numerous visitors stopped by the booths to learn about current research topics—true to this year’s motto: “Where Curiosity Creates Knowledge.” This year, for the first time, the popular “Junior Master Builders” rally was supplemented by the “Mini Master Builders” rally, featuring easier tasks for younger children. Armed with a checklist, the children made their way through small stations and diligently collected points for the coveted concrete medals.
Those who wanted to explore even more construction-related topics were invited to take a guided tour of the CUBE carbon concrete building or could visit the new geotechnical laboratories at Beyer-Bau. Even though it remained hot all evening, the enthusiasm and crowds at our faculty lasted well into the night.
