Second project meeting WinConFat-Structure
Structure took place for the first time at the Institute of Structural Concrete of RWTH Aachen University. On the first day, the focus was on the content-related work of the individual subprojects. The current work steps and interim results were presented by the project participants and discussed in the consortium. How can the fatigue behavior of reinforced and prestressed concrete components with and without joints be investigated experimentally and numerically, and what can a probabilistic description of the results look like? Which sensors have to be attached to the structures to characterize the structural behavior of wind turbines and how can the obtained data be processed automatically? The researchers in the joint project are investigating these and other questions and ultimately want to incorporate the results into design models for the fatigue behavior of wind turbines. Following the presentations, the intensive and successful discussions were concluded with a joint dinner.
On the second day, the focus was on the organizational coordination of the further work in the joint project. Subsequently, the textile concrete pavilion and the laboratories of the Institute of Structural Concrete of RWTH Aachen University were presented to the participants. The two-day project meeting was then concluded at around 1 pm.
We would like to thank the team of the Institute of Structural Concrete of RWTH Aachen University for the good organization of the project meeting on site and are pleased about the participation of all participants, which made the intensive exchange and the nice personal conversations possible.
The project with a total volume of € 2.52 million is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) within the funding program "Application-oriented non-nuclear R&D in the 7th Energy Research Program of the Federal Government" in the funding area of wind energy.
