fib SYMPOSIUM 2027
WELCOME TO DRESDEN
The fib Symposium 2027 will take place from June 7 to 9, 2027 for the first time in over 25 years in Germany - in Dresden, one of the most beautiful and innovative cities in Europe. The Saxon state capital is known as the "Florence on the Elbe", characterized by baroque architecture, world-famous museums and a lively cultural scene. At the same time, Dresden is one of Europe's leading high-tech regions: more than 40 research and development facilities, around 10,000 scientists and a strong microelectronics and materials industry make the city an international center of innovation. Among other things, carbon concrete was developed here and the world's first building made entirely of non-metallic reinforced concrete was erected. A milestone in modern civil engineering technology that impressively underlines Dresden's role as a location of the future.
In this environment, the fib Symposium 2027 offers an ideal platform for exchanging knowledge, presenting research results and discussing current developments in concrete construction. Under the motto "ReThink Concrete: Structures for a Sustainable Transformation", the event will bring together around 400-500 international experts. The symposium covers a wide range of topics: innovative materials for concrete structures, modern structural design, digital and AI-supported tools, monitoring and evaluation, sustainable and resilient construction, outstanding construction projects and the latest developments in standards and guidelines. The scientific program will be complemented by a trade exhibition, diverse networking opportunities and technical tours. The venue is the Maritim Hotel & International Congress Center Dresden (ICD) directly on the Elbe, just a few steps away from the historic old town.
