Who successfully completed his studies in civil engineering in Dresden, is awarded the globally recognised title of Diplom-Ingenieur. In the regular ten semester study, you initially learn the basics of civil engineering and then opt for one of six possible specialisation courses, where specific knowledge from different areas is taught.

The research projects at the Faculty of Civil Engineering perfectly fit into the research priority areas of TU Dresden. The wide range of projects - involving in addition to professors and academic staff also students - reflects the diversity and fascination of the working field of civil engineers.

19 chairs at eleven institutes are active in research and teaching at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The faculty, together with its professors and more than 150 scientific staff covers the entire spectrum of civil engineering. Civil engineers, as shown more than one hundred years ago by the great civil engineer Andreas Schubert, are generalists with specialist expertise.
