Tasks and main objectives

Modeling and quantification of the effects of beaver dams on surface and groundwater dynamics
Evaluation of the positive and negative effects of beaver activities on hydraulic, hydrological and ecological conditions in the border region Saxony-Czech Republic
Development of a decision-making basis for local authorities and environmental agencies with regard to the management of beaver dams
Promoting awareness and understanding of the role of beaver dams in the restoration of watercourses and the resilience of landscapes to climate change
