Are you studying in your first semester, would you like to get to know your fellow students, network and / or are you looking for new learning and writing groups? You can now find them in the first-year community in the TU Matrix!

Join the Ersti-Community (TU Matrix) via this link. To do this, you have to log into the TU Matrix with your ZIH account (you can find more information about the matrix in the manual).

The Ersti-Community is an overview of different rooms that correspond to the areas of TU Dresden (overview of which faculties belong to which schools).

Enter the room to which your faculty belongs, write your question there or that you are looking for a study and writing group, postpone your degree program with a hashtag (e.g. #Architecture, #Machinery, #Psychology) - or find fellow students, learn - and write groups about this hashtag using the search within the room with the magnifying glass symbol in the top right.

The Writing Center (SZD) and the Central Student Advisory Service (ZSB) support learning and writing groups, including pure “first-year groups”, with tips and personal advice. Please write a short email to

The writing center of the TU Dresden (SZD) is the central point of contact for all aspects of academic writing as well as key skills relevant to study and work. The SZD supports students and lecturers etc. a. with offers
