Synergies and interdisciplin­arity

Dresden University of Technology (TUD) is one of the leading universities in Germany and Europe. Since 2012, TUD has been one of Germany’s eleven Universities of Excellence, and in 2026 it successfully defended its status as a University of Excellence in the most rigorous competition within the German higher education system. In addition, it is a member of the TU9 Alliance, which comprises the nine leading technical universities in Germany. Strong in research and first-rate in the diversity and quality of our academic programs, we are closely connected to culture, business, and society. As a modern university, TU Dresden focuses on creating and leveraging synergies in research, teaching, and administration. The broad scientific spectrum spanning 17 faculties is grouped into five schools.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering comprises the Faculties of Architecture and Landscape, Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Transport and Traffic Sciences "Friedrich List", and Business and Economics to strengthen their interdisciplinary cooperation and coordination in teaching, research and administration.
