Withdrawal from an Exam
Withdrawals (after registration) can be made online up to 14 business days before the start of an oral exam or 3 business days before a written exam. You cannot withdraw from an oral exam in Selma on your own if no exam date has been scheduled. In this case, please contact the Examination Office by email to withdraw.
The official counting method applies when determining the last possible withdrawal date. Here is an example of the official counting method for a written exam on February 14, 2022:
- The exam date, February 14, 2022, does not count
- February 13 and February 12 (Sunday and Saturday) are not workdays
- The 11th, 10th, and 9th are the 3 working days
- Therefore, withdrawal is possible until February 8 (exactly until 11:59 p.m.)
At its meeting on July 9, 2018, the Examination Committee decided the following:
The withdrawal deadline for course-related examination requirements ( e.g., complex projects, portfolios, coursework) is set at 8 weeks prior to the mandatory completion or submission of the examination requirement. This regulation applies starting with the Winter Semester 2018/2019.
After the withdrawal deadlines have passed, you may still withdraw from an examination for reasons beyond your control. One example of this is withdrawal due to illness. To do so, please submit the original “Medical Certificate” form and the “Notification of Withdrawal from Exams Due to Illness” form.
