Methods
At CFEA isotope mass spectrometer systems (IRMS) with coupling to elemental analyzers, gas chromatographs, high temperature pyrolysis furnaces or high temperature elemental analyzers are available. Furthermore, laser-based cavity ring-down spectrometers (CRDS) are used. An overview of the available equipment available can be found under Equipment.
We also offer various reprocessing procedures
- Optimised denitrification method for the rapid stable isotope analysis of nitrate (NO3-) and oxygen in water samples and soil extracts (method description)
- Preparation of highly volatile sugar derivates for oxygen isotopy on different sugar molecules
- Fractionation of soil organic matter into particulate organic matter (fPOM, oPOM) and mineral-associated organic matter (MOM) using density and ultrasonic fractionation
