In cooperation with TU Dresden and the Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management (CIPSEM), the Zentrum für Baukultur Sachsen (ZfBK) invites professionals and interested practitioners to an international networking evening on sustainable building and land management.

The event brings together professionals from Saxony with the 21 participants of the 95th UNEP/UNESCO/BMUKN International Short Course (SC95), “Circular Solutions for Sustainable Construction and Land Management.” The four-week course is delivered by CIPSEM at TU Dresden.

The SC95 group includes practitioners from 19 countries of the Global South, primarily from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Southeastern Europe. Participants work in municipal and public administrations, ministries, universities, civil society organizations, companies, and professional institutions and networks.

The course explores how sustainable construction, land-use planning, and circular economy approaches can work together. Topics include resource efficiency and material cycles; climate-responsive and water-sensitive planning; the reuse and transformation of existing buildings and places; and the policy, planning, and practical conditions needed for resilient and inclusive urban and regional development.

The networking evening at ZfBK creates space for personal encounters and concrete examples from professional practice. How are these issues addressed in different countries and working contexts? Which approaches are already working, and which barriers remain to their implementation? Through small-group conversations, international experiences will enter into dialogue with perspectives from Saxony.

The event is aimed at professionals and other actors who would like to connect their own experience and current questions with international perspectives on sustainable construction and land management.
