Start of the second year of the ARiF-COST Action
Starting signal for the second year of ARiF-COST Action!
We are pleased to announce the start of the second year of the ground-breaking COST Action CA23135 "Bringing Digital Data and Reality Together - Augmented Reality in Forestry (ARiF)"!
After an extremely successful first year, which was characterized by the establishment of the working groups, the definition of strategic objectives and the organization of the first important events, we are looking forward to the tasks and opportunities ahead of us. The ARiF Action has set itself the goal of bundling and advancing research in the field of augmented reality (AR) in forestry applications across Europe.
What is on the agenda for the second year?
The coming year will focus on more intensive collaboration in the working groups (WGs). The plans include
-
In-depth research: conducting joint studies and projects to analyze existing and develop new AR technologies for forestry.
-
Knowledge transfer: Organization of training schools and Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) to promote the exchange of knowledge and the qualification of young researchers.
-
First results: Development of position papers and white papers highlighting key findings and a strategic roadmap for the future of AR in forestry.
Quote: "The first year has shown the enormous potential of our action to bring together 270 researchers and practitioners from all over Europe. In the second year, we will use this momentum to achieve concrete results that can revolutionize sustainable forest management." (Thomas Purfürst - Action Chair)
Who is involved?
The ARiF-COST Action brings together experts from numerous European countries - from scientists and forest practitioners to technology developers. This interdisciplinary collaboration is key to bridging the gap between digital innovation and forestry practice.
