AGEP
The Association of Postgraduate Programmes with Special Relevance to Developing Countries (AGEP) facilitates connections among universities, (potential) students, and various stakeholders from the realms of science, politics, administration, business, and civil society. Through these collaborations and other initiatives, AGEP enhances the visibility and attractiveness of German educational offerings on the global stage.
AGEP comprises more than 50 German postgraduate programmes across diverse disciplines, including the natural and engineering sciences, regional and environmental studies, agricultural sciences, as well as the social and economic sciences, and human medicine. These programmes are united by their commitment to fostering sustainable development in their participants' countries of origin. They aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills to become leaders and innovators in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Chair of Tropical and International Forestry offers a master degree in Tropical Forestry. The specialization focuses on the influence of key actors and institutions on forest outcomes around the globe.
Thanks to the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), selected students from developing countries receive scholarships to join these esteemed programmes. This presents them with a unique chance to participate in cutting-edge research projects, take advantage of Germany's advanced research infrastructure and expertise, and engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations. Such experiences are invaluable in enriching participants' understanding of global research challenges and contributing to international research dialogues.
