Trees are different from people
A publication in the international journal Trends in Plant Science takes a stance on the "humanization" of plants and fungi, as exemplified by books by S.W. Simard "Finding the mother tree" and P. Wohlleben "The secret life of trees".
It becomes clear that the so-called "mother tree concept", which sees old trees as organs that take care of their own offspring, is without scientific evidence. The importance of common mycorrhizal networks in forests, which connect tree roots with each other, is also questioned.
