Review: These were the Faculty Days of Environmental Sciences 2022
Two days, two focal points, two locations - on June 28 and 29, 2022, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences experienced two intensive, impressive, communicative days - interdisciplinary and intercultural. In addition to the inaugural lectures of the newly appointed professors, another focus was the exchange and discussion on the international study programmes of the faculty. The participation of seven students of the international postgraduate programmes during the Science slam on the first day and the introduction of the different master's courses and international programmes and projects on the second day, showed the diversity of research and intercultural knowledge under the roof of the faculty.
The newly appointed professors - Junior Professor Anette Eltner, Professor Matthias Mauder, Professor Markus Rüggeberg as well as Honorary Professor Daniel Karthe - ensured well-filled conference rooms on both days in Dresden and Tharandt and aroused curiosity about Geosensor Systems, Meteorology, Forest Utilization and Resource Nexus Perspectives in environmental protection topics with exciting lectures. The inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr. Andreas Hartmann (Head of the Institute Groundwater Management and Professorship Groundwater Systems) unfortunately had to be cancelled at short notice, but will be made up in September.
The exhibited posters as well as the presentation slides from both days are compiled for further reading. They testify to the impressive work done in the various chairs and institutes of all three disciplines of Forest Sciences, Geosciences and Hydro Sciences.
A big thank you goes to all the actors, "enablers", helping hands as well as the numerous guests!
