74th German Cartography Congress
German Cartographers' Congress 2026 in Dresden
After being held jointly with INTERGEO and EuroCarto in recent years, the German Cartography Congress (DKK) is set to return as a standalone conference in 2026. It will take place in Dresden from 27 to 29 May 2026. The DKK brings together researchers and practitioners from science, politics and industry to exchange knowledge about cartography.
Selected topics include (among others):
- Map design and usability studies
- Geovisual analysis and multivariate visualisation
- Topographic mapping, generalisation and updating
- Collaborative mapping, VGI and crowdsourcing
- Atlas cartography and mapping statistical data
- Internet mapping and storytelling with maps
- Location-based services and geosocial media
- Virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D city models
- Cartographic education and training
