Excursion to Dr. Rolf Böhm
On 14 January 2020 the Institute of Cartography went on an excursion to Bad Schandau with 18 students from the international master’s course in Cartography to meet the cartographer Dr. Rolf Böhm in his office. Dr. Böhm has been creating unique, hand-drawn hiking maps of Saxon Switzerland for around 30 years, which are not only an orientation guide, but also works of art. In addition to the work processes involved in creating such a map, the students also learned about old tools for map production.
