Recovery meeting, July 3-4th here

During the first day of the meeting, participants give talks about recent progress with a variety of topics. Starting from Matthias’ talk on the S4F fuel and fire emission data model fusion approach to Kirsten’s talk on the overview of recent updates in LPJmL. 

On the second day, Matthias drove some of the participants to the Saxon Switzerland National Park to see burned area.

Nice and relaxing knowledge sharing happened during the excursion on trees, bark beetles, fire and ecology. 

Natural fire, is it a way for the nature to update itself and recycling? But to what extent the role of fire will change if human-induced fires are more and more frequent? There is a lot to learn and see.
