OpenDroP
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are increasingly used to record environmental and geospatial data. The Open Drone Portal (OpenDroP) is an exchange platform for the metadata and data recorded in this process for scientific and public projects. So far, there is no known alternative platform for accessing UAV data in Germany. The enormous heterogeneity of UAV data means that it has not yet been fully integrated into existing software. The OpenDroP offers the possibility to publish and research UAV data with minimal time effort. We reduce the time needed for research of drone images enormously, because access to already existing data is greatly simplified and multiple images are avoided. OpenDroP does not collect any data itself, but provides the cloud solution to share it.
