Hydrobiology seminar - abstracts and CVs
This page contains abstracts and scientific CVs of the presentations at the Hydrobiology Seminar 2025/2026
Dr. Tinkara Tinta is a marine microbial ecologist and Scientific Associate at the Marine Biology Station Piran, part of the National Institute of Biology in Slovenia. Her research investigates how microbial communities respond to natural and anthropogenic perturbations in marine ecosystems, with particular interest in interactions between bacteria and jellyfish, and their implications for biogeochemical cycling. She has conducted international research through fellowships, including a Fulbright postdoctoral appointment at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (USA) and a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship at the University of Vienna.
Dr. Emily Stevenson is a marine microbiologist with expertise in anthopogenic drivers of antimicrobial resistance in aquatic systems. Specifically, Emily explores how plastic pollution can influence the evolution and spread of drug resistance within environmental systems, and the influences of this across One Health settings. She is also passionate about ensuring political, industry and community impact at every stage of research, and has previously worked in various roles to ensure science communication and translation across key stakeholder groups.
