Lectures are fundamental in all bachelor and masters programs. One special feature, especially in the masters programs and in the optional modules is a strong connection to scientific work and practical experience. Our modules contain an especially high amount of practical training in the lab, in the field and and with computers. The advanced courses contain different forms teaching, seamlessly integrating practical training, field work, data aquision, evaluation and presentation. Modules may, for example, start with an excursion, have specific lectures on-site, perform measurements in the field, continue with lab work under competent supervision, and finish with data evaluation and a final presentation and discussion of the results in a seminar.
A complete list of all regular modules can be found at the study pages of the Institute of Hydrobiology.
In addition to this, regular work group seminars are held, normally each Thursday, at 13:00 in the Drude-Bau. Here you will be able to listen and discuss presentations of practical and research internships, or of bachelor and masters thesis of your colleagues; or you will participate in actual research discussions. Dates and topics will be announced on our mailing lists. All students of the masters program hydrobiology and all other bachelor and masters students of our work group are warmly invited to participate.
If you are interested in working with in an intership, bachelor or masters thesis, then please write us an informative e-mail (with your backgrund and your interests) or, even better, contact us directly after a lecture.
