Research and teaching activities with partners in South Africa
Together with partners from the University of the Free State (UFS) and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, scientists from the Institute of Water Chemistry and the Institute of Hydrobiology conducted a comprehensive monitoring of water quality in South African rivers in mid-March 2022. Subsequently, the researchers took part in the Southern African Mountain Conference (03/14 – 03/17/2022) with presentations and a workshop. These activities were funded by the Flexible Funding Program Internationalization of the TU Dresden.
Already in January 2022, the joint online summer school “Managing surface water quality: General framework, tolls and implementing disaster management aspects in urban areas”, funded by the VolkswagenStiftung, was organised and carried out by the participating scientists.
The Department of Hydro Sciences is thus strengthening its expansion of research-intensive international collaborations for strategic partnerships.
