Start of four BMBF-funded sub-projects
At the 1st of March 2020 two ClimXtreme projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research started at the Professorship of Meteorology, namely "Forest 21 - Forest risks – deriving receptor specific indicators for storm and drought in the 21st century" and "DCUA - Analysis of the modification of deep convection over urban areas using radar data and mesoscale models". ClimXtreme intends to broaden our knowledge of the appearance of extreme weather and climate leading to more robust results and thus allowing to better cope with it.
Furthermore, two projects were started under the BMBF-ReglKlim funding program.
"KlimaKonform - Platform for climate-conform action at local and district level in low mountain regions" and "NUKLEUS - Useful Local Climate Information for Germany".
The aim of the RegIKlim projects is to build up decision-relevant knowledge about climate change in municipalities and regions and to create a broad basis for tailor-made and reliable climate services for adaptation.
