Project Content
The project deals with the development of educational modules to adapt to climate change for the secondary vocational education in agriculture and implementation in the curricula of the agricultural schools of Saxony/Germany. In a pilot phase the results will be tested in Saxony but they are also available for application in other regions of Germany. Results from research projects of TU Dresden and the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) as well as publications from other sources and regions will be evaluated, designed for educational use and tested in practice. Thereby, for the first time the topic of climate change and adaptation will be explicitly and interdisciplinary included in the curricula of the five vocational schools for agriculture which belong to LfULG. Individual objectives are
(1) Application of research results from project partners and further sources for secondary education
(2) Development of didactical concepts and materials as components of secondary education including the experience of other federal states in Germany
(3) Provision of strategies and competence to solve adaptation of farms related to specific site conditions using practical training and eLearning
(4) Testing of the new education material in pilot projects of secondary agricultural education
