Transition to the German M.Sc. Program 2026–2027
Starting October 1, 2026, new academic documents (study regulations and specific examination regulations) will apply. New students entering in the winter semester of 2026/27 will be enrolled directly under the new regulations. All students who were enrolled earlier will be transferred to the new regulations on October 1, 2027—i.e., transitioned—and must complete their studies under the new regulations.
An exception allowing students to complete their studies under the previous regulations applies only to students who have successfully completed all module exams by September 30, 2027, and for whom only the master’s thesis has not yet been successfully completed , AND who have registered the master’s thesis by September 30, 2027.
Equivalence Tables
The transition between the regulations ensures equivalence among cohorts. Existing academic and examination achievements are transferred based on equivalence tables. The decision on this matter will be made by the Examination Committee on July 1, 2026. The equivalence tables govern the recognition of module exams and individual course achievements that have already been completed.
