unites – unique in Germany – the three environment-related disciplines Forest Sciences, Geosciences and Hydrosciences under one roof. Their interdisciplinary and international focus creates high synergetic potential. Comprehensive emphases are monitoring and modelling the "Earth System" at global, regional and local scales as well as sustainable development of the anthroposphere.
