After studying electrical engineering at the TU Braunschweig, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bäker graduated in the topic "Energy and Information Management" likewise at the TU Braunschweig and in cooperation with the research department of the Volswagen AG in Wolfsburg. Thereafter, he joined the Daimler AG, working on the development of innovative vehicle diagnosis systems for several years. There within, his work was in close relationship with the departments research and development as well as test and completion of the electric/electronic assembly.

His current research topics include innovative approaches of vehicle energy and information management, function oriented vehicle networks and architectures, and new methods for testing and diagnosis of current and future e/e-vehicle systems. Thus, also parts of his work are safety relevant and legislative aspects of future e/e-product documentations and according test methods of driver assistance systems and production suitable product design.

Andy Batzdorf is a member of staff at the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics since October 2018. Focus of his work is the research of the integration of wireless mechatronic systems in vehicle components.
From 2017 to 2018, he worked through IAM GmbH (TUDAG) in close cooperation with the Chair of Automotive Mechatronics at TU Dresden, with focus on application-related ageing analysis of electrochemical energy storage systems.

He supervises the courses Energiemanagement und Betriebsstrategien für mobile und stationäre Energiesysteme, Embedded Controller and the practical courses in Fahrzeugelektronik and Vernetzung und Kommunikation im Fahrzeug.

Matine Hajyan has been a Research Associate at the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics at TU Dresden since 2024. Her core research areas are the control and safety of autonomous vehicles. As a doctoral student, she focuses on the development of Minimal Risk Maneuvers (MRM) and investigates control strategies that ensure autonomous vehicles transition to a safe state in critical situations. Her other areas of interest include intelligent transportation systems, control engineering, optimization, computer vision and vehicle mechatronics.

Steffen Kutter has been working at the TUD Dresden University of Technology since 2017 and heads the "Automated Driving and Driving Strategies" department and has also been the overall project manager for the ABSOLUT project on automated driving in public transport since 2019. Prior to this, he worked for four years in rail technology as a team and project leader for mainline railroads (Bombardier Transportation: Do SBB Twindexx Express, Do 2010) and head of project management (WBN GmbH: New Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Freight construction). Steffen Kutter already worked at IAM GmbH (TUDAG) from 2007 to 2013 in close cooperation with the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics at TU Dresden. He was head of the "Energy" department.

The main focus of his research is the optimal longitudinal and lateral control of highly automated and cooperative vehicles based on optimal control methods, among other things. As part of this activity, he works on the multiphysical modeling of dynamic systems using Modelica (SimX and Dymola), Matlab/Simulink, CarMaker and SUMO.

The teaching of the corresponding methodological skills to the students is the subject of the supervision of the chapter "Modeling and Simulation" of the lecture "Design of Mechatronic Systems" (EMS).

Stephan Rother is a member of staff since 2011. His research focus is the optimization of the enegry management of hybrid and electric vehicles. Additionally, his work includes the optimization of the vehicle velocity (vehicle drive strategy) and the modelling of vehicle systems. As a reuslt, he develops operation and drive strategies, which are validated using simulation models as well as real world applications.
