ABSOLUT II reaches the next milestone on the road to the mobility of the future
On 27.10.2025, all ten organizations of the ABSOLUT II project came together in Dresden for the 4th milestone meeting. Together with representatives from industry, transport, local authorities and science, we are pursuing a common goal: to make autonomous driving in local public transport a reality.
The meeting focused on taking stock of our overall system testing. This involved checking how well the individual components - from the vehicle, technical supervision and control center to the passenger app, backend and infrastructure - already interact with each other. For the first time, many of these components were connected to form integrated functional blocks of the overall system.
The consortium presented the results of the past project period to representatives of the Federal Ministry and the project sponsor. In the coming months, the complete system is to be tested in interaction for the first time - a decisive step on the way to real autonomous operation.
ABSOLUT II is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space as part of the ICT for Electromobility program - as part of the German government's strategy for autonomous driving in road traffic.
A big thank you to all project partners for the inspiring collaboration:
