Profile
Steffen Kutter is working at the TU Dresden since 2017 as lead engineer for automated driving and drive strategy. Since 2019 he has also been the lead project manager of the Dresden University of Technology for the ABSOLUT project for automated driving in public transport. Prior to that, he has been working in the area of train technologies as team and project supervisor (Bombardier Transportation: Do SBB Twindexx Express, Do 2010), as well as head of project management (WBN GmbH: Neubau Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Freight). Also, Steffen Kutter was working at the IAM GmbH (TUDAG) from 2007 to 2013 in close cooperation with the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics of the TU Dresden. In that time he was lead engineer for energy technologies.
Focus of his research is the optimal logitudinal and lateral control of highly automated and cooperative vehicles i.a. using methods from the optimal control theory. Within this scope, he is working on multiphysical modelling of dynamic systems using the interlinking of Modelica (SimX und Dymola), Matlab/Simulink, CarMaker and SUMO.
As lecturer of the chapter "Modeling and Simulation" in the lecture "Development of Mechatronic Systems", he is able to mediate his methodological competencies to the students.
