Great progress at the Vehicle Test Centre
The building activities for the 2nd construction phase of the Vehicle Test Centre will soon reach an important milestone. In November of this year, the first of the two test halls, Hall A, will be completed and handed over for the installation of the test benches. In the past three years since construction began in 2018, in addition to extensive conversion work on the existing building structure, three additional vibration mountings and the complete supply technology for state-of-the-art test benches and measuring facilities have been installed in this hall, among other things. A modern fire alarm system was installed in the high hall area of Hall A, which was already handed over in 2014. From the time of the handover, the installation of the test benches and test technology will now begin for the chairs of automotive engineering and automotive mechatronics.
Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the planning team led by architect Hartmut Hofmann, the SIB under the project management of Jörg Dittrich, the construction companies and the university staff - especially Astrid Lehleitner - the schedule can not only be maintained but also changed to an earlier completion despite the obstacles caused by the pandemic.
Many thanks to all those involved.
We will report here in detail on the partial measure after the handover.
