Contact lines
Aim:
- basics of contact line construction and design
Content:
- requirements and specifications
- contact line systems - structure and design (overhead contact line systems, overhead conductor rail systems, conductor rail systems)
- dimensioning of contact lines based on overhead contact line systems
- mechanical dimensioning (loads, elongation, sag, behaviour of fixed tensioned wires, wind deflection, span lengths and tensioning lengths, headspans, poles and foundations)
- electric dimensioning (network simulation of running trains, thermal dimensioning, return circuit)
- interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line (static and dynamic factors of the interaction, influence of the design parameters, simulation of the interaction with Sicat Dynamics)
- design phases of contact line systems (system, basic, allocation & construction design, design documents, computer-based engineering)
- design principles of overhead contact line systems (e.g. electric separations, protection and phase separation sections, catenary drops, turnouts)
- contact line components (materials, production processes, design, quality control and inspection)
