Mobility and Transportation Systems (Bachelor)
The Chair of Electric Railways is represented in all semesters of the Bachelor's degree course "Mobility and Transportation Systems":
In the first semester, you have the opportunity to gain an initial insight into the exciting world of high-performance electric railroads in the seminar "Connection a future: the Erzgebirgstunnel on the new Dresden - Prague line" as part of the module Fundamentals of Transport Science.
This is followed in the second and third semesters by compulsory modules on the basics of electrical engineering and the basics of Electric Transportation Systems and driving dynamics.
In the fourth and fifth semesters, you can choose "Electrical Transportation Systems" as one of your two specializations. You will acquire in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering, measurement technology and device development and apply this practically to the field of electrical transportation systems in a project. You can also choose the compulsory elective module "Overhead contact lines".
In the sixth semester, you can complete a professional internship in the field and write your Bachelor's thesis on an exciting topic related to Electrical Transportation Systems.
Electrical Transportation Systems (Master)
The Chair of Electric Railways, together with other Chairs of the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and other faculties, runs the specialized Master's degree course in "Electrical Transportation Systems":
Deepen your knowledge from a Bachelor's degree in "Mobility and Transportation Systems", Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or comparable degree programs with a Master's degree in Electrical Transportation Systems!
You will acquire all the theoretical and application-oriented knowledge you need to understand and design Electrical Transportation Systems holistically as a system of vehicles, infrastructure and operation, and then have excellent job prospects.
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering and Management
Study Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering and Management and take our elective modules! You will gain an overview of the most important topics in the field of Electrical Transportation Systems and have the opportunity to write your diploma or master thesis at the Chair of Electric Railways.
