RailBelgrade 2023 - Chair participation
From the 25th to the 28th of April, the 10th International Conference on Railway Operations Modelling and Analysis (ICROMA) "RailBelgrade 2023" takes place. Representatives of the Chair of Rail and Public Urban Transport are participating in the event.
On the 27th of April, the deputy head of chair, Dr. Nikola Bešinović held a well-received keynote speech on "Resilience in Railway Transportation Networks: From Concepts to Applications", including a case study of the dutch railway system with multiple disruptions.
Jing Shan presented his work, co-authored by Dr. Bešinović and Prof. Schönberger, on "Service quality assessment of international rail transport" with a focus on the New Silk Road between China and Europe.
Co-authored by Dr. Bešinović, Daniel Haalboom presented his results on the topic of "Freight train scheduling for industrial line with multiple Railway Undertakings".
Further participation to the conference included contributions from:
- Christopher Szymula, Nikola Bešinović and Karl Nachtigall, "Demand-based capacity assessment using Mixed-Integer Programming".
- Jacob Trepat Borecka, Nikola Bešinović and Francesco Corman, "Real-time mitigation of power peaks in railway networks using train control measures".
- Ruyue Zhao, Lingyun Meng, Nikola Bešinović, Jianrui Miao, Xiaojie Luan, Yihui Wan and Zhengwen Liao, "Dynamic train priority rescheduling model with mixed passenger and freight traffic using a rolling horizon solution approach".
- Peiran Han, Lingyun Meng, Nikola Bešinović, Xiaojie Luan, Zhengwen Liao, Jianrui Miao and Yihui Wang, "Optizing resource planning in shunting yard with constraint programming".
With many other interesting and inspiring contributions, the conference is proving to be fruitful and we are looking forward to the further development of connections with fellow researchers in the railway field from all over the world.
