Railway technology
In the Railway Technology Research Workshop at the Chair of Railway Track Technology, tests can be carried out on superstructure components and systems of railroads. A servo-hydraulic testing machine, a static test portal with a hydraulic loading device and extensive measuring equipment are available for this purpose. In addition to standard loads (usually static ramp and dynamic sinusoidal loads), the servo-hydraulic testing machine can also be used to simulate any load curves with the DURA program, such as dynamic train crossings with real force and displacement amplitudes. A series of standard tests, e.g. according to DIN EN 13146, DIN EN 13481 and DBS 918 235 are possible. A large part of the railroad tests can also be carried out in-situ using mobile equipment.
