The 29th Signalling Conference
The 29th Signalling Conference took place on 19 and 20 September - organized for the last time by the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology. Nevertheless, it was a premiere this time: as the usual lecture hall was booked out, the symposium took place in the Boulevardtheater Dresden. Although the academic flair was somewhat lacking, the venue had other advantages: More space for the all-important break-time discussions, comfortable seating and better technology.
In terms of content, the conference once again had a lot to offer: Having covered the building blocks of digital LST last year, the focus was now on planning and commissioning them. Advisors from research, planning and the signalling industry presented the basics and reported on their projects. More than 300 participants, including around 40 remote participants, followed the presentations with interest and took an active part in the discussion.
The symposium will take place again next year. The majority of those present were in favor of retaining the venue. The topic has not yet been decided, but will be announced in good time.
