Guest Researcher Prof. Zhang, USF, Tampa @ IFL
Dr. Yu Zhang, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of Advanced Air Mobility Research at CUTR, University of South Florida; University of California, Berkeley; and Fulbright KAIST, visited IFL and the DFG RTG AirMetro team on June 23–24. We had lively discussions on system optimization and developed a strategy for collaboration in the field of urban air mobility integration. She said:
“Many thanks to Prof. Hartmut Fricke for the invitation to visit TU Dresden in Germany.
During my three-day stay, I had the pleasure of presenting our Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) research at USF and meeting with students and researchers involved in the AeroMetro project led by Prof. Fricke. The “Aerometro” project at TU Dresden, also known as the RTG AirMetro (RTG 2947), is a large-scale, long-term initiative launched to lay the scientific and operational foundation for AAM—which includes electric flying taxis, automated drones, and urban freight transport.
I was impressed by the team’s collaborative spirit, strong research culture, and cutting-edge projects. I look forward to continuing our collaboration with Prof. Fricke and conducting impactful research in the field of AAM.”
