Further development of the Research-Information-System (FIS) - Section "Air Traffic"
The FIS has been developed since 2001. The field of "air transport and airports" is represented by almost 800 summary reports which are linked to 33 mind maps. Between July 2009 and December 2010, this system was developed further via internet, co organisedorganized by TU Berlin and TU Dresden as a scientifically based basic of decision making. Since 2011, the chair of Air Transport and Technology is solely responsible for the field of "air transport and airports" within FIS. At the turn of the year 2010/2011, an extensive revised version of the FIS website occurred. As result the FIS has password less access via the following link: www.forschungsinformationssystem.de The website is available in German language, only.
The technological progress still applies as driving force for economy and industry. A forward-thinking innovation politics can only achieve an advance under sustainable conditions by a fast transformation of the knowledge from research and development into technological skills. Today the essential basis for this purpose is extensive knowledge from various research departments on an international level for decision-making. Resulting requirements as fast availability, topicality and an according overview has to be guaranteed by modern information technology. The user-orientated processing and presentation of research- and development results is an important requirement for political actors. This was successfully transformed through the conception in preceding project phases of the Research-Information-System. The target of the Research-Information-System is fast ascertainable contextual knowledge and is to be achieved by targeted analysis and processing of specific topics .The graphical presentation by mind maps gives an overview about information modules and topic connections as well as a transparency of interdisciplinary relations with other departments. The objectively and sober written as well as easy to understand project- and summary reports present the topics well-founded. The keyword search allows a fast access to all information modules and the topicality of the knowledge is realized by an automated follow-up system. Whereas the focus in previous project phases has been mainly on the extension of the knowledge base as well as the integration of international research results, an optimization of the FIS is strived within the actual project phase. This is transformed by means of updating and maintenance of the meanwhile considerable knowledge, the advanced systemization and synthesis of knowledge maps as well as the summary reports and processing new politically relevant research topics.
