Remote sensing of vehicle emissions - CARES participants meet in Dresden
Dresden becomes the European center for remote emission measurements – for two days. We are partners in the EU project CARES that is developing state-of-art remote vehicle emission measurement techniques. The project has been running since 2019 and has demonstrated the usefulness of cross-road remote sensing, plume chasing and new point sampling techniques. We have developed new research tools and determined real-world emissions in Milan, Krakow and Prague. For further application we can now offer to authorities reliable tools for high-emitter detection and vehicle emission measurements. TUD will continue analysing the data collected and feed results into the vehicle emission modelling and enforcement activities - in order to contribute to a cleaner road transport.
Participants from across Europe and from China enjoying the discussions.
