IEEE CEC 2021
This year's IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation will take place (fully virtual) from June 28 to July 01, 2021. In addition to numerous keynotes, tutorials and special sessions, this year's program also includes two workshops, both of which will take place on the first day of the conference, i.e., June, 28.
The workshop Good Benchmarking Practices for Evolutionary Computation is co-organized by members of the Benchmarking Network and the IEEE CIS Task Force on Benchmarking. Pascal Kerschke is involved in both research networks and thus also one of the main co-organizers of the workshop.
The event is scheduled for Monday, June 26, 2021, from 4:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. (CEST) and will include the following three very promising presentations:
- Peter A.N. Bosman (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, sowie Delft University of Technology) will speak on the topic "Using Benchmarked EAs for Real-world Applications in Medicine -- Expectation vs Reality",
- Sašo Džeroski (Jožef Stefan Institute) will hold a presentation about "Ontologies for Open Computer Science", and
- Christian Camacho (Université Libre de Bruxelles) will use his talk on "Metaphor-based Metaheuristics: the Good and the Bad" to present the perspective of him and his two co-authors Thomas Stützle (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and Marco Dorigo (Université de Libre de Bruxelles) about the topic of metaheuristics.
