Women and technology? Absolutely! Registration for the tryING 2024 taster study program has been launched
Registration for a unique taster study program has been launched at TU Dresden: tryING is aimed specifically at young women who are considering studying engineering but are still unsure. Over a period of eight weeks, from August 5 to September 27, 2024, they will have the opportunity to get to know university life at TUD and try out numerous engineering degree programs. Participation is free of charge.
The participants will take part in workshops to research the technologies of the future, meet female scientists and exchange ideas with female students who are already studying engineering. During excursions to companies in the region, they will gain an insight into the future professional life of an engineer even before they start their studies. In addition, the preliminary math course is part of tryING, so that the future first-semester students can get off to the best possible start to their studies at TU Dresden.
"Young women, in particular, often have doubts as to whether studying engineering is the right thing for them - usually needlessly," says Dr. Sylvi Bianchin, Head of the Unit Diversity Management and organizer of the trial course in engineering. "Our experience in recent years shows that we can allay many fears with tryING and help female A-level students to find the right degree program for them."

TU Dresden currently offers 17 undergraduate engineering degree programs. The university provides numerous opportunities to inform, motivate and support young women, who are still underrepresented in technical and scientific disciplines: https://tud.link/5px38r
