Positioning for bus depot automatisation
In the IDEA project, which deals with the automation of a bus depot, positioning measurements were carried out in the real laboratory in Torgau from 21.10.2024 to 23.10.2024. In addition to the Chair of Transport Systems Information Technology (ITVS), the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics (FZM) at TU Dresden and MRK Management Consultants GmbH were also involved.
The objective of the measurement campaign was to record a data set for hybrid indoor-outdoor localization with various radio technologies (5G NR, WLAN, Bluetooth, Ultra-wideband, GNSS). Both static measurements in an industrial hall and dynamic measurements with the e-Crafter in the transition area between indoor and outdoor were carried out. A camera-based system for motion detection and a total station were used for referencing.
Building on this, the data set is now to be evaluated in relation to various research questions. These include the availability of the radio technologies in the areas of the hall and the transition to the outdoor area, the accuracy of the different technologies, the comparison of different positioning algorithms and the data fusion (opportunistic positioning system).
