Guest lecture given by Dr. Thomas Otto from the Fraunhofer IVI in course VT-108 "Einführung Verkehrstelematik"
In our teaching curriculum, we make sure the students can connect the traffic theories to applications. One approach to achieve this is by inviting guest lecturers from research institutes and industries to present the latest challenges, developments or standards in the field of ITS.
Last month, we had the pleasure to have a guest lecture given by Dr. Thomas Otto from the Fraunhofer IVI in our basic course VT-108 “Einführung Verkehrstelematik”. Dr. Otto studied at the TU Dresden and completed his doctorate at the University of Kassel. He is currently working as a team leader at the Fraunhofer IVI.
During the guest lecture, Dr. Otto not only explained the theoretical knowledge about microscopic traffic models, but also gave the students a virtual excursion about the current state of research in highly automated driving.
We would like to thank Dr. Otto for delivering this excellent lecture.
