Girls'Day Academy discusses the traffic lights of the future
On January 16th, we were pleased to welcome female students from 7th and 8th grades of schools in Dresden and the surrounding area, as part of the Girls'Day Academy Dresden initiative. The event provided them with a fascinating glimpse into the world of science and technology. Dipl.-Ing. Susanne Wunsch, one of our dedicated research associates, led an engaging session on Artificial Intelligence, explaining how it can be leveraged to optimize the control of traffic light green phases. The girls eagerly participated in group discussions, brainstorming creative solutions for how traffic light systems can fairly balance the needs of different road users.
In addition to exploring cutting-edge research topics and how these are tackled in our projects, Susanne shared her personal career journey, offering insights into her
decision to pursue this field of study. The day not only deepened their understanding of AI but also inspired the students to consider future careers in STEM.
